Phamai TechaphanAfter four days of fun, festivities and elephant polo, including 10 teams from all over the world featuring New Zealand All Black rugby players, professional polo players and celebrities, the final day of the King's Cup Elephant Polo Tournament offered plenty of memorable moments and new reigning champions. Mekhong walked away with the trophy after edging holders King Power 11-10 in a thrilling final, presided over by His Majesty the King's representative, HE Privy Councilor ACM Chalit Pukbhasuk. The Kalaan brothers kept the reigning champions on the back foot in a high-scoring first half, helping Mekhong take a 8-7 lead. King Power fought back fervently in the second half and looked set to retain their title after they got their noses in front, but with only minutes left, the Kalaan brothers scored three consecutive goals to stun the champions and claim the cup.
